Godzilla vs Kong release date set for March 26 for theaters and HBO Max

Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Pictures has announced a new Godzilla vs Kong release date from May to March 2021.

The movie which is the latest entry for the Legendary’s Monsterverse will pit the Big G himself, Godzilla against the king of Skull Island, King Kong and picks up after the events of Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The last update for the release date for the flick was supposed to be May 21 but now Warner has changed the release date to March 26, 2021. It would be hitting theaters AND HBO Max on the same date.

So what happened was Legendary Entertainment went ballistic when Warner Bros. announced that they would sending all of its 2021 slate to the HBO Max streaming platform. For the outfit, they were partly angry because WB also blocked attempts for Netflix to buy the monster movie for $250 million.

But it looks like both parties have made up and now we have a new Godzilla vs Kong release date.

Godzilla vs Kong is directed by Adam Wingard and stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall.
