Yakuza: Like a Dragon PS5 Version set for release March 2021 in Japan
Japanese fans of the long running Yakuza games’ latest entry, Yakuza: Like a Dragon may have to wait a little while longer for the Playstation 5 version as its been announced that the release would come later in the month.
Publisher Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced that the game would be released for the Playstation 5 on March 2, 2021 for both Japan and Western gamers.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon known in Japan as Ryu ga Gotoku 7: Hikari to Yami no Yukue will feature both English and Japanese voice-overs. Gamers can expect shorter load times compared to the Playstation 4 version. There’s also built-in 60 frames per second frame rate, 4K resolution graphics and some trophy adjustments. Expect new content that’s previously paid content on other platforms for the PS5 version including “Premium New Game” and “Super Final Millennium Tower”.
Also just to give additional context for Japanese gamers and geeks, they are not able to upgrade the game to the PS5 version nor can they transfer game data from the PS4 version to the Playstation 5. So for most Japanese gamers, this is considered a “New” buy for them. It’s really something that we should consider ourselves lucky with.
