Check out the official trailer below:
According to a post by Deadline, the general release would be through Disney Plus but will play in cinemas that are open and fully operational. That’s how they plan to salvage the film which was one of the major releases that was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was originally slated for a July 2020 release which was then moved to an August 2020 release before Disney finally decided to settle with a September 2020 release with this hybrid business model.
“In the US, Canada, New Zealand, and a number of countries, we will be offering on Disney Plus, the epic Mulan on a premiere access beginning September 4, the price point being $29.99 in the US,” said Disney CEO Bob Chapek.
Ok, so here’s where it gets tricky. You need to pay $30 if you want to see the movie on Disney Plus. That’s on top of $7 or $10 monthly subscription you have to pay.
