Issuance of Student Permit is suspended by LTO starting July 1
The LTO had recently announced that they will be suspending the issuance of student permit starting July 1, 2020 to August 3, 2020.
The suspension follows a Memorandum Circular 2019-2176 issued December 2019.
According to LTO Chief Edgar Galvante, student driver permit applicants will be required to take a 15 hour theoretical driving course. That would be a total of three sessions which will including Land Transportation-related special laws, a general driving session and “Introduction to traffic laws”.
And while that sounds interesting, there’s a problem, the LTO is currently looking for driving schools to set-up driving schools where student drivers can enroll in for the course.
