J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot will be doing Justice League Dark for HBO Max
It looks like J.J. Abrams is dipping his hands on Justice League and DC Comics with this new announcement. Apparently, Abrams would be doing a Justice League Dark series which will be aired in HBO Max.
Take note thought that this is not just a movie. It’s going to be a series. So Hollywood-level content shrunk down to a series? Big check!
The series is a supernatural adventure and will be exclusively available on HBO’s streaming service HBO Max. And has its own big three in the form of Deadman, Zatanna and John Constantine. The TV version of JLD hasn’t been cast yet but they are really looking to bring the trinity in the series.
So far, its only that news bit that has been revealed so far. Abrams will be producing the series for DC and HBO. No word yet if he’ll be writing or directing a few episodes too. But casting and production may start after the COVID-19 pandemic has ended. They are looking for a 2021 release too.
Also if you remember, Pacific Rim and Shape of Water director Guillermo Del Toro was also slated to produce/direct a movie version of this team although that project was eventually scrapped much to the dismay of fans and the producers themselves.
