[Spoiler] Lifts Mjolnir – Thor # 4
We find out that there’s another candidate for the worthiness of mjolnir in the pages of Thor # 4 which was written by Donny Cates and Nic Klein.
In this issue of Thor, we catch cosmic-powered Thor going one-on-one against Sif, who recently replaced Heimdall as the new protector and guard of the Asgardian realms. When the King of Asgard throws his enchanted hammer, mjolnir, in Sif’s way, she transports the hammer elsewhere. It is then teleported to Jotunheim, right smack dab in Loki’s throne room.
Whether this was something that Sif thought of during their fight or it was something of a coincidence, we’re still not sure. Maybe we need to ask writer Donny Cates about this. Or we could wait for things to unfold.
Loki paces around his throneromm mulling over the possibility of him handling Mjolnir for himself.
And he actually does it.
This has been a dangling plot which was first referenced in Thor # 1 when Loki and Thor briefly met before Galactus’ appearance in the end of the issue.
The current version of Loki manages to carry Mjolnir, proving that he is indeed “worthy” of Thor’s power. But mind you, another version of Loki had been seen carrying an enchanted hammer.
Hell, even Tom Hiddleston’s Loki was seen carrying around Thor’s hammer and Captain America’s shield.
