Disney Planned to Rebrand to 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures

Rumors have been swirling around that Disney will be rebranding their recent acquisition, 20th Century Fox to a brand new name.

According to reports, Disney will be dropping the Fox in the brand making it 20th Century Studios. Of course this would be trampling on the rich history of the Fox which dished out classic films like Alien and Predator and even James Cameron’s Avatar.

Meanwhile, Fox Searchlight, the studios’ indie film producer will alao be revamped to Searchlight Pictures.

No word yet on when this is going to take full effect although I know that locally Fox film releases are being handled now by Walt Disney Studios Philippines.
