The Dark Multiverse Infected Heroes have a New Name
Batman/Superman # 5 concluded with the reveal of the name for the six infected heroes that The Batman Who laughs had previously infected. And they actually now refer to themselves as the Secret Six.
And just a quick round up of these infected heroes:
- Jim Gordon
- Hawkman
- Donna Troy
- Blue Beetle
- Shazam
- Supergirl
And with the Batman Who Laughs leading them in their activities, it looks like they are bearing the combined efforts of Batman and Superman.
The current issue even shows Superman and Batman playing right into the Batman-Joker hybrid AND the Secret Six’s hands.
The game is definitely changing with not the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel admitting that the blood that could be spilt in this matter is all on their hands.
Also this isn’t the first time we have had a team running around the DCU calling themselves the Secret Six. There are actually three teams who have been referred to as such in different decades.
The first Secret Six appeared in Secret Six # 1 published May 1968 written by E Nelson Bridwell and Frank Springer.
The second Secret Six team appeared in Action Comics Weekly in May 1988. The book was written by Martin Pasko and Dean Spiegle.
The third and most popular version of Secret Six was created by Gail Simone and Dale Eaglesham in June 2005’s Villains United storyline.
The original team featured Catman, Deadshot, Cheshire, Rag Doll, Scandal Savage and Parademon. The team’s Mockingbird was revealed to be Lex Luthor. Later versions of the team had characters like Bane, Knockout, Harley Quinn and more.
