HBO Announces HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Prequel Series

HBO officially announced a new Game of Thrones spinoff series called House of the Dragon which will be set millennia before the events of Game of Thrones (including that dismal ending).

According to reports, this new TV series will be done by George RR Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire) and Ryan Condal. The series will also have Condal partner with Miguel Sapochnik as showrunner. Lastly, Sapochnik will also direct the pilot and several other episodes.

Also, this series will be taking a look at the origins of Dany’s house, House Targaryen, how they came from Valyria all the way to becoming the top family in Westeros. If you need to take a look at the history of this prominent Westerosi family, you can watch this video…

No word yet on when Martin will finish his book to close the “ASOIAF” books though.
