Marilyn Manson added to The Stand Series, we want him as Randall Flagg

You never go wrong with Stephen King adaptations whether its the ridiculously scary “It” to the terrible “The Mist” or even Pet Sematary. And one of his other classic works is getting a modern remake in The Stand and we want Marilyn Manson to play Randall Flagg.

Today, it appears that we are one step closer to seeing that happen as the rocker has announced his involvement in the miniseries adaptation.

Birthmoviesdeath shared that the Manson has been added to the cast although his role has not yet been revealed. On top of that, Manson will also be working with country music star Shooter Jennings to do a new cover for the classic “The Doors” song “This is the End”. (Revolver)

Shooter and I also did a cover of “The End” by the Doors, for a new miniseries of The Stand by Stephen King, which I’m also going to be acting in.

Other castmembers involved in the CBS miniseries includes:

James Marsden as Stu Redmana former military man who is immune to the virus. He found patient zero in the original quarantine zone but never got sick so the government was precious with him in order to try to find a vaccine from his blood.

Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, private school teacher and virgin who believes her destiny is by Flagg’s side.

Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost) as Mother Abigail, self-proclaimed (and immune) prophet of God who’s leading a group of survivors towards Boulder, Colorado.

Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine) as Glen Bateman, an arthritis-afflicted professor who joins Stu on his journey to find Mother Abagail.

Odessa Young (Assassination Nation) as Frannie Goldsmith, a pregnant travelling companiom for Harold Lauder who ends up falling in love with Stu – much to Harold’s chagrin.

Henry Zaga (The New Mutants) ias Nick Andros, a young, deaf-mute grifter who wears an eye patch for most of King’s novel.

The new The Stand miniseries will be directed by New Mutants director Josh Boone.
