The Scale Armor in Captain America’s Costume Could Make a Triumphant Debut in Avengers 4
New leaked photos from the untitled Avengers 4 movie shows fans a closer look at Captain America and his costume which features… wait for it… scale armor.
Captain America’s classic comic book look had lost something when he transitioned from paper to silver screen and that was the scale mail look or scale armor in his costume. It’s a subtle thing but fans remember it fondly. It was as iconic as the Marvel Character himself.
This is also one of the many reasons why Cap’s 2012 Avengers costume got a lukewarm response from fans. Compared to the scale armor, the cloth costume was “meh”.
Now that Joss Whedon’s Avengers seems like lightyears away, we’re in the era where Marvel Studios not only makes something look similar to the comics, they also find ways to integrate what worked with what looks great onscreen. Take for example the impending return of the scale armor in Captain America’s costume as seen in these low resolution promotional photos featuring actor Chris Evans as Steve Rogers.
We bid adieu to the scruffy looking Avenger who led the defense in the Battle of Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War. Instead we get to see the classic. The classic Sentinel of Liberty who lost his way by the end of Captain America: Civil War.
Here’s the individual photos that were leaked today.
It also gives more cred to the Avengers 4 concept artwork that was released some time ago.
Avengers 4 is slated for release 2019 and will star Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland and a whole lot more. Movie’s directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.
