Disney Puts the “D” in AsiaPop Comic Con 2018 with “Hall D” and Hall M for Marvel

Who wants the D? Apparently everybody attending next week’s AsiaPop Comic Con 2018 with the announcement of Disney’s involvement in two “Halls” namely Hall D (for Disney and Star Wars) and Hall M (for Marvel).

They call these things “exclusive premium content showcases” and the house mouse is bringing in two for the event happening July 27 to July 29 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasig. Pretty much the event is a showcase of the latest merchandise and collectibles of all things Disney and Marvel.

Abdulla Mahmood, Al Ahli Holding Group Marketing and International Business Director, had this to say about Hall D and Hall M:

We have a lot of great surprises lined up for fans, both old and new ones. Over the years we have built a strong strategic partnership with Marvel in showcasing exclusive content from their movies, TV, animations, comics and merchandise through a platform christened as ‘Hall M.’ Now it is great to have the parent company, The Walt Disney Company, showcase exclusive content and experiences from the rest of its franchises.

What is Hall D

The concept will be the first in Asia and the goal is show EVERYTHING in the Walt Disney Company Philippines; arsenal. Fans can expect to watch special content from Walt Disney Animation Studios and for they’ll even fly in legendary Disney artist Mark Henn for an exclusive session. DisneyLife, Disney’s answer to Netflix in terms of streaming content will also make it’s presence felt so expect a lot of content pointing consumers to that app’s direction.

Since they already gave us the “D” through Hall D, expect a complement in the form of the Marvel booth called Hall M. Here fans need to step into the quantum realm and be transported to where the Marvel Cinematic Universe is right now. Trapped with Ant-Man in the quantum realm. Kidding aside congoers can interact with life-size statues of heroes from the MCU and even bring home Marvel Merchandise and collectibles.

Veronica Cabalinan, Country Manager for the Walt Disney Company Philippines said:

We are happy to partner with APCC as we bring our content and experiences closer to our fans. The unwavering support we receive from our fans serves as a strong pillar on why we remain the leader in content and entertainment. With the exclusives we have prepared for APCC, we hope to engage our fans further and celebrate their love for all things Disney.

Assemble at ‘Hall M’

Hall M has become an AsiaPop Comic Con tradition. Its been there from the very start and its one of the highlights for Filipino fans with a rich assortment of exclusive content from Marvel including that time they were promoting Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange.

Just last year, ‘Hall M’ gave us clips and trailers from Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and Marvel’s Punisher TV Series.

With a slew of upcoming content following the epic confrontations in the recent Avengers: Infinity War, ‘Hall M’ is bound to have juicy surprises up its long, well-guarded sleeves this year across its different platforms that include films, TV, mobile games, and animation.

Another first for APCC

APCC Manila is the first and only pop-culture convention in Asia to have Studios content showcase from leading Hollywood Studios. In 2016 ‘Hall M,’ a Marvel showcase was launched to an overwhelming response. This year ‘Hall D’ will be launched in Asia making it three years in a row to launch an exclusive platform

“It is an honor for us to have the world’s leading studios showcase exclusive content at APCC Manila and this just reaffirms the commitment of our team to continuously over deliver with talent and exclusive content while building on the trust and partnerships with various studios by providing them with a perfect platform to connect with their fans in the region” said Mahmood on the growing global Hollywood studio alliances.
