Superman has a new Fortress of Solitude – Superman # 1
This week’s Superman # 1 gives fans a look into the new status quo for Superman after the events of Man of Steel. Brian Michael Bendis leads Superman to a bit of change from his personal life to his life as a superhero.
And one of those changes start with a new base of operations.
Spoiler alert for Superman # 1
In case your not updated with the current Superman storyline, Rogol Zaar, the mysterious villain who first appeared in Action Comics # 1000, attacked Clark’s Fortress of Solitude which contains the device that can contact Lois Lane and Jon Kent, who left Superman to travel the universe.
Superman assess the damage together with a few members of the Justice League including Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman.
There’s no dialogue or monologue after this page, only a caption with three words on it.
THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE
That’s right, just like in Superman Returns, Superman drops a Kryptonian crystal on the deadly waters of the Bermuda Triangle, far from where people can easily snoop around.
There’s a lot of other things that happens in Superman # 1 and I definitely can’t wait for the next issue.
I hate to say this but Bendis is starting to do wonders for this title. Putting the new Fortress of Solitude here in the Bermuda Triangle also keeps things fresh. I was actually happy when they ditched the giant key that Superman used to use to unlock the Fortress during his Pre-Crisis of Infinite Earths appearance.
