The staff of the upcoming film Mazinger Z Infinity has premiered the film in the 12th Rome Film Festival and later shared a few visuals and stills including *excited squeal* a look at the actual new Mazinger Z Infinity mecha.

We’ve already seen a lot of stuff for the Mazinger Z movie like THIS, THIS  and THIS but I certainly wasn’t ready for this big reveal. We have an effing third Mazinger mecha buried under Mt. Fuji no less!

And just like previous incarnations, this one will be souped up and uber powerful. I’m already thinking that this would be more powerful than the now classic Mazinkaiser.

We’ve also got a look at a new female character (who I presume will be taking over support mech ala Sayaka from the original series).

We also get a look at Dr. Hell’s ugly mug as he’s back again to do some serious damage.

No word on the classic baddie Baron Asura though. Hopefully he/she makes an appearance.

Showtaro Morikubo and Ai Kayano will be voicing the two leads, Koji Kabuto and Sayaka Yumi respectively. It also stars

Interestingly enough the original seiyuus for Koji and Sayaka, Hiroya Ishimaru and Minori Matsushima, will be in the movie playing unspecified roles. Guess we’ll all have to wait and see.

Mazinger Z Infinity is slated for release January 2018, it’s going to coincide with the series’ 45th anniversary in the manga. No official dates yet, but Toei is planning to do a series of international screenings.
