Asher Angel Cast as Billy Batson for Shazam
Looks like the Shazam movie is finally rounding up their cast as WB and New Line Cinemas has officially announced the casting for their Billy Batson.
New Line Cinema and DC Entertainment has cast Angel Asher as the young Billy Batson, the alter ego of Shazam.
Asher, who has appeared in film and TV projects like Jolene and Hate from a Distance, will topbill the DC film together with Zachary Levi. Levi will be playing the role of mystically powered Shazam (formerly known as Captain Marvel).
And while it hasn’t been confirmed yet and talks are still underway, Mark Strong is also attached to the project as Dr. Sivana, Shazam’s mortal enemy.
Mark Strong stars in Twentieth Century Fox’s “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.”
Shazam is slated for release some time in 2019.
