Starkiller Was Supposed to be in Star Wars Rebels as an Inquisitor for Darth Vader
For today’s Star Wars fix, we find out that at one point in the production of Star Wars Rebels, the now-classic Starkiller character from the game ‘Force Unleashed’ was supposed to make an appearance but was later cut.
In a recent interview with Sam Witwer, the man behind Starkiller in the game, he mentions casually the idea of Starkiller aka Galen Marek being an inquisitor that’ll make the life of the Ghost crew a bit more miserable. He was after all pre-Disney, a Sith apprentice for Darth Vader.
Dave [Filoni] did share with me, by the way, he considered making Starkiller an Inquisitor in Star Wars: Rebels. It didn’t quite fit the story they were telling, but he did think about it because he thought that would be interesting.
If you think about it, Starkiller won’t be the same Starkiller we all know and love because all that he’s ever done would be swept under the rug thanks to this whole new rebooted universe the Star Wars universe is currently trudging along and following. That would mean no ties to the rebellion and maybe not even being the Sith responsible for the deaths of several Jedi masters (who appeared in ‘Force Unleashed’ as stage bosses).
At least we know that they considered bringing him back in one form or another, I guess that’s good enough for this fallen Jedi and source of the Rebellion’s official crest.
