Was Beta Ray Bill and Man-Thing Referenced in New Thor: Ragnarok?
While Marvel Studios is still not giving fans Beta Ray Bill in any of their films, it looks like keen-eyed viewers managed to find a Beta Ray Bill reference in the latest Thor: Ragnarok trailer.
According to several sources, there’s a scene in the trailer which features a tower with several heads jutting out of it. At first glance, you wouldn’t see the faces on the tower. But there are people who actually took the time and checked out those faces on the tower.
So while we still can’t discern much based on the footage, they did speculate who those faces were. Here’s a look at that.
If you ask me, these faces are (clockwise) Ares, Bi-Beast, Beta Ray Bill and Man-Thing.
Screengeek shared the same photo with some of their picks as well.
Humor me if this were true.
Man-Thing is an easter egg, a place filler. He fits what encompasses a champion in Sakaar. He’s big and scary and intimidating. The same goes for Bi-Beast.
The real big ones here are Ares and Beta Ray Bill.
Ares is dead in the Marvel Universe but he’s not in MCU. Beta Ray Bill is not only a fan-favorite from the Thor books, he’s also made an appearance in “Planet Hulk”. You see in the books, Hulk and his Warbound face off against a captive Silver Surfer.
I really don’t know what happened but when they made an animated adaptation of Planet Hulk, they replaced Silver Surfer with Beta Ray Bill.
Its equally exciting for me that they went with Beta Ray Bill for the animated feature.
Thor: Ragnarok opens November 6th 2017 from Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum and Anthony Hopkins. Directed by Taika Waititi.
