First Look at HAPPY! TV Series Adaptation Starring Christopher Meloni as Nick Sax
SYFY has not only announced that they have ordered a full season for the TV adaptation of the Grant Morrison-penned title Happy!, they’ve even released a first look at the main character Nick Sax played by Christopher Meloni.
Morrison’s Happy! follows the tale of detective turned hitman Nick Sax who suddenly gets an imaginary friend in the form of a winged blue horse named Happy. Yes, I kid you not this is the shortened version of the synopsis. Don’t believe me? Here’s the official description then.
Happy! Synopsis
The series follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, “Law & Order: SVU”) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named “Happy” (Bobby Moynihan, “Saturday Night Live”).
The Syfy order happened September 2016 and they made quick work of the series as we now have a still image from the series which will star Law & Order: SVU’s Christopher Meloni.
Happy! will also star Patrick Fischler as Smoothie, Ritchie Coster (Blackhat) as Leonardo Scaramucci aka Mr. Blue and Zabryna Guevara as Amanda Hansen.
Grant Morrison will be writing the pilot episode together with Brian Taylor, who also wrote and directed the film “Crank”. The two together with Meloni are also executive producers. Patrick Macmanus will be the showrunner for Happy!
