WTF of the Day: Star Wars’ Cantina Band Song Tops List of Songs Played during Sex in Australia

Cannot unsee. According to a recent article that Gizmodo ran, the classic Cantina Band Song from Star Wars beats out the likes of Barry White or Marvin Gaye as the go-to song while having sex in Australia.

The data was taken from a recent Spotify playlist called “Sexy Times”. Its here where they automatically rank the song based on genre and on the number of streams. Its just weird that our friends from Down Under are getting it on to the tune that is synonymous to Mos Eisley and to that scene where Han Solo shoots Greedo first. If you’ve nary a clue what we’re talking about watch the video below:

What’s really curious is how’d that happen? Considering the other songs it beat for the top spot, it’ll leave you scratching your head. So what happens when they walk down the aisle? Do they play the Imperial March.

Also I wonder what John Williams thought of when they ranked Cantina Band Song from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope? Did he cringe? Was he happy that it topped a chart? Or should he be proud that his work might just have helped in the increase of population in Australia?
