RUMOR: Ben Affleck Wants to Quit Playing Batman

Rumors are swirling that Academy Award winning actor Ben Affleck is currently looking to get out of his contract of playing Batman for Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s DC Extended Universe.

We can source this from John Campea of Collider Movie Talk who claims that he’s spoken to three different people within WB who says the same thing; Ben Affleck wants out of playing Batman for the DCEU.

Currently where we stand we know that

Affleck will no longer direct The Batman, Matt Reeves is a possible replacement for Affleck and that Joe Manganiello has been cast as Deathstroke the Terminator for the solo Batman film.

We’d like to speculate on this a bit. If ever the deal pushes through and Affleck quits being the current Batman, he’d have appeared in three DCEU films namely Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and this year’s Justice League directed by Zack Snyder. He could either sign off after Justice League or before Batman.

Its too early for anything and we just have to hope that WB manages to convince Affleck to get back to working on The Batman and even up his paycheck for the films. Because come on, he’s THE best Batman in years (no offense to the other actors who played the role).
