The Mummy Reboot Movie Gets New Poster and Teaser Trailer

Universal Pictures begins their “shared universe” of films starting with the reboot for the film The Mummy which ditches Brendan Frasier and now stars Tom Cruise (Jack Reacher).

Tom Cruise stars in this new action-adventure featuringa new ancient queen played by Sofia Boutella from Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond. This ancient queen had a great destiny which was never fulfilled. She’s then entombed for centuries till she gets reawakened in the present day, together with the malice and evil.

In the teaser trailer Cruise’s character says “I saw her” and adds “She is real”.

As I mentioned earlier, “The Mummy” is the first of a shared universe for the Universal Monsters, a Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe which will also feature classics like The Invisible Man, Van Helsing, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Wolf Man and the Bride of Frankenstein.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman from a script by John Spaihts, the film also stars Jake Johnson (“Jurassic World”), Annabelle Wallis, Courtney B. Vance (“American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson”) and Russell Crowe (“Gladiator,” “Man of Steel”) as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. “The Mummy” opens June 9, 2017.
