5 Great Moments from Superman # 10 – Superman # 10 Spoilers
We haven’t done any posts for the DC Rebirth’s Superman but we’re now catching up with the release of the issue this week. Without any delays, Superman # 10 spoilers or the 5 great moments from Superman # 10.
To be honest, this issue touched me in more way than one. Especially that touch on fatherhood.
Also the variant cover that came along with the issue is a little too late for Batman v Superman imho.
The issue was written by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason (who did such a great job during their work in Green Lantern Corps years ago). They really did kick-ass job with the book then and they are doing an astounding job now.
So here we go…
Jon Kent meets Nobody and Goliath
In a nice exposition, we get to not only see Jon Kent’s powers develop, we also get to see Damian Wayne’s extended “family” featuring Nobody and his other “cat” Goliath as they abduct Jon after he trespasses into what they consider Wayne property.
Of course, the surprised Superboy unleashes his devastating new power, Freeze Breath.
The attack knocks them all out and when Jonathan wakes up, he’s already strapped to a table with Robin looking at him.
Batman is Actually Scared of What Damian Did
I loved the fact that Batman was concerned when he finds Damian with Superman’s boy strapped on a table like an experiment.
And he’s already counting that any moment Superman would come bursting into the area ready to take their heads off. Mind you he’s scared because this isn’t the same Superman he knew. This was the Superman from before New 52, so to him, while they are teammates in the Justice League, this is a stranger.
Superman’s Arrival
like any decent dad would react, Superman really comes in ready to get violent with Batman and his son. I guess I would too. I’d probably go “shoot now, ask questions later”. You can still see that even with his son “in danger” Superman opts to be the responsible adult.
Also props for the first appearance of the DC Rebirth Kryptonite Batarang.
Props # 2 for that epic panel with the World’s Finest and their sons ready to tussle.
Superboy’s Sick Burn
That was a short lived fight because Jon manages to calm his father down. Everything is set in order, we get to see Alfred being delighted with how much respectful Jon Kent is as opposed to how rude Damian Wayne is to him. We also get to see Superboy pretty much owning Robin.
THAT Fatherhood talk between Superman and Batman
You should have seen me reading the book and actually stopping. This had damned #feels written all over it. Yes, you can say, RELATE MUCH.
Special mentions.
Superboy Punches Robin
There’s only so much you can do when you’re dealing with an asshole. And that was the case with Superboy and Robin. After introducing Jon to his pets (Titus, Alfred and Bat-Cow), Damian proceeds to hurl more insults at the boy of steel.
It gets messier as Robin’s buddies join the fight.
It even went to the point where somebody really could get hurt (most likely Jon because Kryptonite).
The issue ends with the Superdads looking at their wayward sons.
Damn. What AN AWESOME issue!
