Amazon OKs New Jack Ryan Series Starring John Krasinski
The last time fans got a hold of iconic character Jack Ryan it was in the Chris Pine film Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and that didn’t end up well both for fan reception and at the box office. Luckily for us, Amazon has plans to release a 10-episode series featuring a new actor playing the role.
John Krasinski has been tapped as the new Jack Ryan after his theatrical run as a modern day action hero in the film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. The Office alum will take a crack at the character with a 10-episode streaming series simply called “Jack Ryan”.
The project has been greenlit by Amazon who will also produce the show which is currently in development. According to reports the movie will the Tom Clancy character:
as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
The newest take will be written and developed by Carlton Cuse (“Lost,” “The Strain”) and Graham Roland (“Almost Human”), and is a co-production of both Paramount and Skydance Television.
