Pikachu Isn’t the Top Pokemon Anymore According to Japanese Survey
It looks like Pikachu isn’t Japan’s favorite Pokemon anymore according to a recent survey!
Japan’s The Pokémon General Election 720 recently ended and the poll got a new winner for the top spot as the fan-favorite Pokemon. The distinction goes to Pokemon X and Pokemon Y starter, Greninja or Gekkoga in the Japanese games.
If you’re unfamiliar with the character or have never played Pokemon X / Y, then the only thing you really need to know is that Greninja is the final form of Froakie, the cute water-type frog starter Pokemon.
Here’s the Top 20 Pokemons that Japan currently loves according to the Pokemon General Elections:
Greninja (Gekkōga)
Arceus
Mew
Pikachu
Sylveon (Nymphia)
Genesect
Rayquaza
Zygarde
Charizard
Meloetta
Mewtwo
Eevee
Jirachi
Darkrai
Lucario
Diancie
Hoopa
Keldeo
Victini
Manaphy
The poll opened April, 2016 and ended May 9.
Going back to Greninja’s popularity, we’ve got this feeling that Pokken Tournament had a hand in the ousting of the yellow electric cutie. But we’re yet to confirm the numbers. Also, sorry, Pokken Tournament is still an exclusive for the Wii U.
