IT Star Jack Dylan Grazer Joins Shazam Movie as Freddy Freeman

One of the kids from “It”, Jack Dylan Grazer will be joining DC’s Shazam movie project as an important supporting character named Freddy Freeman.

In the comics, Freddy Freeman was Billy Batson’s best friend as he grew up looking for his parents and acting all adult like. When Batson obtained the power of Shazam and became Captain Marvel, he later shared his powers and Captain Marvel Jr. was born.

No word yet on whether or not we’ll actually see Grazer’s Freddy become Junior. What’s important is that we know the studio is actually looking towards building a sufficient supporting cast of characters for the film.

Shazam will star Zachary Levi as Captain Marvel/ Shazam, Asher Angel plays Billy Batson and Mark Strong could play Dr. Sivana (still unconfirmed though).

Captain Marvel Jr. first appeared in 1941’s Whiz Comics #25. Unlike Billy’s Captain Marvel, Freeman’s Captain Marvel Jr. remains a teenager in his transformed state.
