Rogue vs Galactus – Unbreakable X-Men # 1
Who would win in a fight between Rogue and Galactus? Well apparently, there’s one scenario that they did in Unbreakable X-Men # 1 by Gail Simone and Lucas Werneck that gives us a winner in a Rogue vs Galactus fight.

While its never fully detailed in the book, we do know that the reason why Rogue wasn’t involved in the main Age of Revelation storyline is because she died before those events happened. Apparently, the devourer of worlds Galactus made an appearance at the X-Men’s Louisiana home looking to get the mutant Dome and turn her into his newest Herald.

When the team decides that they won’t be surrendering their teammate to the whims of Galactus, they also decide to make a stand there and then. Rogue flies off to confront Galactus face to face…

Galactus shrugs off the attacks from down below forcing Rogue to use her real mutant powers, to absorb Galactus’ powers through skin-to-skin contact…

A bright flash happens and we don’t really see what happens to Rogue. It takes a few pages where we see Gambit mourning the loss of Rogue and growing old and bitter through the years. In the process, he also goes blind and that’s where we see Rogue’s ultimate fate.

She ends up taking over the role of Galactus and also becomes a petrified giant near the X-Men’s Louisiana base.
Of course, some fans might argue that this may not be the case because Rogue could have simply exploded from the contact because of Galactus’ immense power. But I like what Gail Simone did with her take on the whole Rogue vs Galactus fight. She could have simply taken over Galactus’ role but also had to become a statue because it’s a defiance to the natural order of things.
