Here’s my Redmi Note 15 Review which has now been officially launched in the Philippines which is now available in stores with SRP PHP 9,999 and features 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED, Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 108MP main camera and IP66 dust/water resistance.

Design

The latest smartphone from Xiaomi/ Redmi looks to shake things up with the top competitor for this segment with the same level of durability and toughness, a very BIG endorser and some neat stuff in between. This might be the hammer that breaks the cap on Redmi to be honest and it starts with the design. The phone follows what’s touted as the “flagship design” clocking in at just 183.7g. It’s a slim competitor and can easily fit in snugly on your pocket, making it very inconspicuous to carry around.
Toughness and durability is the name of the game for this smartphone and they actually laid it out pretty well how they’ve done their take on the “indestructible phone”. For starters the screens of the REDMI NOTE 15 have been treated with some next-gen scratchproof and waterproof protectors hitting the Mohs level 5 category. This means that the phone can survive being dropped to around 1.7m and submerged to up to 24 hours in “fresh water”.
The Redmi Note 15 also comes in various colors that might reflect your personality. The review unit I got was the Black version but there’s also Glacier Blue and Purple.

Display

The Redmi Note 15 comes with a big display boasting of a 6.77″ ultra-large screen with peak brightness of 3200 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. The touch reaction on this is also astounding with a 2560Hz ultra-high touch sampling rate it’s perfect for whether you’re watching videos or playing games.

One thing I’m not a fan of however is the phone’s aspect ratio, it’s too little for me and sometimes I find myself squinting on what’s displayed on the screen and no this isn’t about the text too because that can be adjusted to your liking, The apps on the home display is also a little too cramped so if you have issues like that with your phone, you have been warned.
Camera

The Redmi Note 15 comes with a 108MP main camera with 1/1.67″ sensor size and ƒ/1.7 aperture while there’s also a secondary camera which is a 2MP depth camera for taking more serious PRO shots or macro shots and there’s also the 8 MP camera with f/2.2, 16mm for ultrawide shots.
Here are some sample shots:
The zooming for this device can be hit-or-miss but that’s to be expected with the price point and also because this is the base version.
Sticking to the standard zooming capacity gets you incredible shots but pushing past that, the images look blurry and lose it’s imaging quality.
Selfies are also great with this devices thanks to the front camera with 20 MP and video recording locked in at 1080p/30fps.
Editing photos with the Note 15 is also fun as it offers a lot of options to enhance or totally remake your photo thanks to the AI Imaging functions like removing unwanted elements in the photo and putting in some bokeh effects. You can also adjust your photos based on three categories namely Tone, Colors and Details.
For videos shot using the Note 15’s camera, I’m a mixed bag on the overall quality however I do wish to point out that basic videos are great. You can also shoot videos with different resolutions like 720p/30FPS and 1080p/30FPS and 1080p/60FPS. Here’s the output for the phone’s video:
As you can see, it’s pretty good when taking normal shots but falters a little bit when it comes to zooming objects that are ways far off from you. Stability also isn’t an issue as it’s very stable. You actually can’t see much distortion when moving around just like what I did in Cebu.
Battery Life

In the three days I spent in Cebu for the launch, I only had to charge the Note 15 a total of one time. And that’s thanks to the phone’s 6000mAh battery. And like me, you also won’t have to wait for a super long time because this version comes equipped with 33W turbo charging meaning charging it and watching a single episode of your favorite show will get you a fully-charged phone.
Xiaomi is also confident that the battery can last for as long as 6 years. And why wouldn’t it be, it’s able to last two days of full use without charging, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth here.
Did you know that you can also use the phone as a spare power bank? Just bring out a two side Type C USB cable and connect it with your Type-C device and you’re good to go.

Performance, UI and UX
The UX and UI is standard and clean. When you add in the improved refresh rate it becomes smooth as butter. We have to thank the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset for that together with the HyperOS 2 and Android 15 combo they have working behind the scenes. The Adreno 710 also works well in this build so you can be sure that this unit is perfect for all types of consumers whether you’re the game-zombie young ones, the active young adults or the budget-conscious adult who just wants a dependable phone. All of that gets checked by the Redmi Note 15.
