OPPO Reno13 5G Review – Best Waterproof Smartphone for 2025

Here’s my OPPO Reno13 5G Review which I consider as the best waterproof smartphone for 2025 from OPPO Philippines! This comes at an insanely reasonable price of Php 34,999 in Plume White and Luminous Blue!

Today let’s talk about the OPPO Reno13 5G which might just be the hottest (or coolest) smartphone

Display

This smartphone features a 6.59 OLED display with a 93.4% screen to body ratio and 120Hz ultra high refresh rate.  This means that for the price, you are definitely well taken care of especially with the screen. I’m a fan of the refresh rate for the screen because it seemlessly works well with the visuals when I’m using the phone. Also the colors on the phone are amazing with up to 1.07 Billion colors in it, it’s a spectacle every time you open the phone for work or play or even when shooting underwater.

Design

If you’re the type to nitpick on the look and the aesthetics of a phone before buying then let me paint a picture of why the OPPO Reno13 5G should be on your shopping cart. For starters its definitely stylish, one of the better looking phones I’ve reviewed in the past six months or so.

The review unit I got was Luminous Blue variant with it’s sparkling and striking deep blue hue while you can also go for the Plume White variant. I would consider the blue version though since its made to look like its constantly glowing from all angles. Either way, it’s also light and slim with this version I have weighing in at 181 grams and is around 7.24mm in size.

And this smartphone isn’t just pretty it’s also pretty tough with aerospace grade aluminum all over the place that helps in texture as well as provide durability.

The back camera’s design also looks aesthetically pleasing while at the same time showing supreme craftmanship using sculpted glass to make it quite an impressive finish. Plus it looks really cool underwater. The OPPO Reno13 5G also flaunts its IP69, IP68, and IP66 tests with flying colors so you can be sure that its dust resistant and water resistant. Do note however that this only works in freshwater and saltwater aka “the beach” is a different matter entirely.

The OPPO Reno13 5G features a 50MP camera with 26mm wide angle lens, 8MP 15mm ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth lens. It also features an LED flash, HDR support and panorama shot.

The OPPO Reno13 also features to unique ai features or functions. These two are ai live photo and the ai editor which was also present in the last smartphone that OPPO released.

The AI Livephoto captures industry leading color and clarity for your favorite memories in motion this means that you can take photos and take videos at the same time or or a hybrid if you will it’s a little heavy on the storage but it’s worth every second of the photo plus it gives a little more life to your outputs. The AI Livephoto also lets you share your photos with ease. Regardless whether it’s an iPhone or a smartphone from using the android system you would be pleased to find out that you can connect and share photos videos and files with AI Livephoto you can also share photos and videos on apps such as Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp and more. This feature makes the phone a must have for both business and pleasure.

We also have to circle back on AI Editor which we last saw in the past few oppo phones that we reviewed for the site. And because we’re using a better camera for this iteration you can expect to have better photos to edit and play around with. New on the OPPO Reno13 is the ai clarity and answer the AI Unblur , the AI Reflection Remover and many more among the three new options for the AI Editor for this phone i would have to be really impressed with AI Unblur function especially since we are already on the subject of outings and out of town trips this is the perfect tool to use on photos that are heavy on action and motion and it’s just too perfect to remove or delete or not share.

On the creative side of things OPPO Reno13 also features AI Motion and AI Reimagine. Lets you transform static images into engaging 3 second videos but it’s more on photos stock photos that you can use on so it’s pretty much like live photo except that you’re not using your own photos or your human subject you can use anything as a subject meanwhile oppose ai reimagine all so lets you take one shot with many possibilities you can use one photo and it can create different or it can generate different types of art styles uh that might suit you again this is also going to use it’s going to be heavy on the My OPPO app so i would suggest that you try to sign up to enjoy this particular service.

Gaming

In terms of gaming, the OPPO Reno13 5G also has your back. The phone features AI Hyperboost which helps frame stabilization and temperature control. It’s basically the system that manages all the resources when playing games whether it’s chill games like puzzle games to RPGs like Wuthering Waves and MOBAs like Mobile Legends and Honor of Kings. Gaming is also smooth thanks to the TÜV SÜD Lag-Free Mobile Gaming Rating S Certificate.

We also have a competent game mode for the phone which consists of the usual stuff like blocking notifications, setting up screen capture and screenshots during gameplay and more.

With OPPO’s Adaptive Frame Booster technology, you can also expect 120FPS gameplay at a lower power costs, something that not all smartphones that came out this quarter can provide.

Battery

The OPPO Reno13 is also one tough cookie when it comes to longevity. It features a 5800mAh Large Battery that can go for around 12 days on a single full charge but also go for around 15 hours on medium to minimum settings for games. And because it’s got a 80W SuperVOOC Flash Charge system on it, you can get the phone back up to 100% in 49 minutes. That’s super fast charging right there.

OPPO Reno13 5G Review – VERDICT

I liked the OPPO Reno13 a lot. The review unit they provided was not only durable and tough, it also shoots good underwater shots whether it’s in a river or a pool so it’s a must-have this summer season. The hardware and software are pretty decent but it’s really the camera and the underwater capability that makes it shine the most.
