New History of the DC Universe reveals there was never a Justice League of America only a Justice League

Mark Waid‘s ongoing New History of the DC Universe has changed something about the DC Comics’ history pertaining to the Justice League.

Above you can see that in the new history, a “proto” team was created to fight Darkseid who decided that he had to take Earth before metahumans arrived and popped up and would be twice as difficult to conquer. They also did a little bit of retconning with the League forming to fight the invasion of Darkseid on Earth, which was the start of the New 52 Justice League.

It was AFTER repelling Darkseid that the League was formally created with the addition of Martian Manhunter, who takes over Cyborg as the 7th Member of the League. Other than that, we are also seeing the Satellite Era team which consisted of Ralph Dibny aka the Elongated Man, Hawkman and Hawkgirl, Ray Palmer as the Atom and Black Canary.

This would mean that the iconic issue where they first teamed up which was the fight with Starro the Conqueror never happened anymore…
