Marvel’s Civil War # 1-7 Spoiler and Explainer
Civil War # 3
The third chapter of Civil War opens with unmasked Peter Parker posing in front of the press with his friend and mentor Tony Stark…
The other instigators of the SHRA are also doing a world tour to convince other heroes to join the cause. Reed Richards visits Black Panther in Wakanda to ask him to side with the pro-registration crew.
Tony Stark visits the X-Men and talks to White Queen aka Emma Frost. The two reveal that they have been in a weird tryst on and off again. Stark then reveals his plans to include the mutants in the pro-registration group.
Frost then questions Stark where they were when the Sentinels destroyed Genosha and killed thousands of mutants with which Iron Man has no answer.
In another part of town, Steve Rogers is meeting with the ‘secret Avengers’ with their new disguises created by Nick Fury.
When they get a distress signal, the team jumps into action with Rogers even doing a Superman-ish pose.
When the Secret Avengers bodyslide into the area thanks to Cable, they find out that it was all a trap set by Iron Man and his team of Pro-Registration heroes.
So with two forces like this, a fight is out of the question. It’s also the first time Captain America and Iron Man punch each other so hard, their knuckles bleed. The insults too were interesting.
What’s more interesting here in the start of their first fight is how Captain America started it, disabling Tony’s armor with an EMP attachment.
Special shout outs to Spider-Man in his Iron Spider costume specially designed by Tony Stark.
So while Cap and Iron Man fight in an isolated part of the battlefield, the rest of the heroes tussle. That’s until a bolt of lightning strikes Hercules, knocking him cold.
… and we find the absent Thor joining the battle.
