Leo Katigbak Speech
Mr. Leo Katigbak
Head of ABS-CBN Sagip Pelikula
“This is a very, very special event for us. Before the pandemic, we used to have a lot of partnerships with Ayala. I am particularly excited with this one because now, we are only featuring two movies but in five malls. So there’s really an opportunity to watch the films “Kailan Ka Magiging Akin” and “Tatlong Ina, Isang Anak”. Now for “Kailan Ka Magiging Akin”, this is a 1991 film, and I’m proud to say even with our limited resources, what we’re going to see tonight is something that was done in-house, in ABS-CBN archives. The scanning was made by Marco Gatpandan, and the restoration (enhancement and color grading) was done by Mikael Pestaño. I am very thankful because it’s also very rare that we get members of the actual crew and cast to support the movies. I always say any commitment they had to promote the movie has lapsed so many years ago when the movie was first shown, but when we invited them, they replied yes right away, so it’s very very heartwarming. I think for a lot of people here, this may be the first time they will see the film on the big screen. So I hope you enjoy the experience, I hope you get to share it to a lot of people out there. And if you have the opportunity to watch the classics, the local Tagalog movie, try to support it, because with its success, it just means that we will be able to do more of these things down the line. Maraming, maraming salamat po,
Ms. Yvette Roldan
