10 Best Moments from Obi-Wan Kenobi
With the finale a done deal, here are the 10 Best Moments from Obi-Wan Kenobi which stars Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen who reprises his role as Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader.

10. Owen and Beru
One thing that this series did right is shine new light on characters Owen and Beru Lars. These two were treated like fodder during A New Hope and weren’t really doing anything in the prequel trilogies. But here in OWK, they have significant roles showing tenderness and love to the young Luke Skywalker. Owen even having brushes with the Inquisitors at the various chapters of the series.
Plus Owen (Joel Edgerton) actually put up a fight against Reva during the finale.
9. Everything Reva
This was a mixed bag for me but in the end, I had to put this in the list. There were a number of times when Reva’s existence and story just had to be “accepted” but the writers did have a potentially good thing going on for this new character. Reva is played by Moses Ingram who did a great job of her portrayal.
She’s also a tough Inquisitor who not only showed ambition but also showed how deeply broken she was throughout the series. Luckily for her, she got her redemption at the end of the season and there was no Obi-Wan or Darth Vader around to convince her one way or another.
8. Live Action Inquisitors
Star Wars: Rebels introduced the Inquisitors and then went and just focused on two of the members. But I’ll take whatever they can offer. The series also gives Star Wars fans a new look at the devious group of the Empire’s enforcers who are tasked to hunt down Jedis who survived Order 66.
Its a nice way of giving Rebels fans a treat and at the same time connecting the games like Jedi: Fallen Order a visual treat too.
7. Dead Jedi references
In a sad and somber note, this series also continues to show us what happened to the Jedi decades after Emperor Palpatine gave out Order 66. Some jedis and force sensitive beings were killed and the Inquisitors event put those dead Jedis in a creepy mausoleum, a
On the flip side, there’s that scene where Ben and Leia first enter “The Path” with the help of Tala Durith (Indira Varma) they also encounter Jedis who have survived the purge and went to start a new life far from the Empire including Obi-Wan’s friend Quinlan Vos. Here’s to hoping we see the dude soon.
6. Darth Vader’s appearance
You can say that we’ve been deprived of live-action Darth Vader for awhile now after seeing that awesome killbox scene from Rogue One…
Since then most of his appearances here has been in animated form. But Obi-Wan Kenobi changes all that. Throughout the series, we get tons of great moments that probably deserve its own list here. But some of the stuff that he does includes drag Ben through raging fire, bully his Inquisitors and terrorize refugees. Ultimately the “Kenobi” series is also about Vader’s personal demons and his burning (no pun intended) to get even with Kenobi.
5. A Deeper story behind Jedi survival
Obi-Wan also introduced the precursors to the Rebel with characters like Tala and Roken. These were the members of “The Path”, a group of people who smuggle force sensitive children and even Jedi away from the grasp of the Empire and the Inquisitors. Its a nice little expansion that Disney could use/ abuse in the coming projects.
4. Leia and Luke
Honestly there’s a little gripe here. Luke is relegated to a plot device by the end but young Princess Leia Organa is fleshed out as early as chapter 1/ Episode 1.
But that’s OK because this series gives us a look into the lives at the two future Skywalker family members before they take the center stage in Episode 4. The series also further provides deeper meaning for the two characters for their future. Like shows us how Leia is a compassionate and caring leader even at the age of 10. Luke’s just a hapless kid when he was 10 and will not show maturity until a decade or so later.
Again that’s OK because we can see what they are building here between the canonical comic books from Marvel and the shows that they are making, its still a world building game while filling the gaps left by the movies.
3. Qui Gon Jinn’s appearance
They did not disappoint when the last few minutes of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” gave fans a scene involving Ben Kenobi and the force ghost of his old master, Qui Gon Jinn played by Liam Neeson once more. And they have a logical explanation too as to why he’s never appeared anywhere in the series except the ending. Pretty consistent reasoning too.
2. Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Anakin Skywalker
It has been a long long time since we saw the Jedi master and his padawan fight so this checks all the boxes when it comes to these main characters. It’s also so refreshing to see Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker again and swinging around a blue lightsaber. Plus this flashback fight is symbolic with what is happening in that present time. Even better is that is implied that this flashback is happening to both Anakin and Obi-Wan.
Bottom line, this fight is something awesome from the visuals to the implications.
1. Obi-Wan Kenobi forgives himself and moves on
The series starts with a tired and emotionally damaged Obi-Wan and ends with a high note for the former Jedi Master. It could be an allusion to mental health too or at least grieving. Obi-Wan had no one to or nothing to pour out his emotions from what he experienced during the Clone Wars and at the end of Revenge of the Sith. Him taking on this dangerous mission was a way to blow things off and be able to get process his feelings.
Plus it also gave him closure, ready to take his place from where we meet him in A New Hope. The wise and experienced man who for a brief moment became Luke Skywalker’s mentor and got him out of his old life in Tatooine.
