realme 9 4G Review
Here’s my realme 9 4G review which was recently launched in the Philippines and has an SRP of ₱14,999 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and a whole lot more. The realme 9 (4G) will come in three color options: Meteor Black, Stargaze White and Sunburst Gold and will be available in the 6GB+128GB storage variant.
First a look at whats inside the box:
The box contains:
- Phone unit
- Manuals
- USB Type-C cable
- Realme 9 4G jelly case protector
- Sim ejector
Design
The realme 9 features the standard stuff from the other versions of the realme 9 series with a few key difference here and there.
On the right hand side you have the power button…
The left side has the volume rocker as well as the SIM tray and memory card slot. Speaking of memory cards, you can extended the phone’s impressive storage size of 128GB to as much as 256GB through micro-SD card. There’s also DRE or Dynamic RAM Expansion of up to 5GB to help out for gameplay and multitasking.
At the bottom you have the standars USB charging port, headphone jack and speaker.
At the back you have the triple camera setup…
And the its got a unibody, plastic finish with a gold/yellow color scheme.
Other stuff that I found good includes the slimness of the phone. As you can see in the photos above the realme 9 comes with a 7.99 slim body and harmoniously works with the Ripple Holographic design with two variants namely a Gold and a White variant.
Display
The realme 9 4G features a 6.4-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) Super AMOLED display and a 90Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate. It’s bright enough and has enough color accuracy. Under direct sunlight, you also don’t have to squint your eyes too much because the smartphone features 1000 nits of brightness.
In terms of output, I’m also happy to report that its on the same level as the Pro+ series; proof that the brand is making good of their hardware’s performance even if they swapped out things from here and there.
Camera
Just like the other realme 9 models that we have already featured including the realme 9 Pro+, realme 9 Pro+ Freefire and realme 9i, the camera is worthy of the price point. The realme 9 features a 108MP ProLight Camera which is powered by a Samsung HM6 Sensor. This means that the phone could use 9 images at most to be used in pixel-binning, which helps create better images even in low-light situations. This makes it a good companion for outdoor activities.
The camera’s pretty good even when your subject is food.
This smartphone also features a 120-degree wide angle lens at the back .
Selfies are also great with this smartphone as the 16MP front camera also uses new tech called Clear Fusion Algorithm this means that you can expect better color quality and a facial recognition that works really well.
Plus there are a number of great filters for you to use to make selfies more interesting.
There’s also Street Photography 2.0 Mode which gives users different features including “Peak & Zoom” which gives your photos a 90’s Pop Street filter…
Also noticed that regardless of the lighting, you end up getting anywhere between decent to stunning photos using this smartphone.
Performance
I definitely loved the performance of the realme 9 4G its fast and reliable especially if you are doing a number of things swapping out from gaming to social media to anywhere in between. And we can all thank the efficient performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 Processor.
The Snapdragon 680 processor also features Cortex-A73 cores that can perform and reach up to 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores that gives in additional kick.
Another thing to note is that this processor has an Adreno 610 GPU so users can play heavy-duty games without worrying about draining your battery or experiencing lags.
Battery
The realme 9 is no pushover when it comes to its battery too as it comes with a 5000mAh battery along with 33W Dart Charge capabilities. This could be your everyday carry phone to be honest.
I am also beyond the roof with this smartphone and its “big brothers” when it comes to charging speed. For the realme 9 4G, we can get from 0% to 100% in 75 minues.
Extra Features
Other notable features of the realme 9 (4G) is the In-display Fingerprint Sensor with a Heart Rate Monitor, so you can. It comes with the new realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 for improved interface, security, and personalization features.
