X-Men Red # 1 Spoilers – Storm and Magneto brings back classic mutant faction

X-Men Red # 1 spoilers incoming! The issue was written by Al Ewing and drawn by Stefano Caselli.

Before we proceed, SPOILER ALERT

In this issue there are tons of story beats that readers gets introduced to. There’s Storm and her self-doubt and dealing with the politics of the Arakko mutants. There’s Sunspot and fight between Gabriel Summers aka Vulcan, Cable and Abigail Brand running around the former Mars and Brand’s hidden agenda. There’s Magneto who has quit Krakoa’s Quiet Council and has chosen to live as a recluse in Arakko. All of these things push these characters to Magneto’s new castle called the “Autumn Palace” where they draw up plans for something that could save the planet from itself.

And yes, Storm once again ditches her flowing hair and returned to her more retro, mohawk look which I totally love. Loved it during its original Claremont era as well as the All New Marvel era where she was working with the X-Men Gold/ Extraordinary X-Men team.

Lets see how this team will come to life. We kind of already know that Vulcan and Storm will have a fight and after seeing Thunderbird aka John Proudstar getting revived, he’s a loose cannon that needs to be reigned in hopefully with Cable’s help.

Brotherhood of Mutants

Here’s an excerpt from Wikipedia regarding the Brotherhood of Mutants:

The original Brotherhood was depicted as Magneto’s primary allies in his early battles with the X-Men during the 1960s.The original Brotherhood was ultimately disbanded, with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch going on to become members of the Avengers. In 1981, the Brotherhood of Mutants was revived under the leadership of Mystique while the group’s most visible incarnation during the early 1990s was led by Toad.
