Shang-Chi Concept Art reveals Deadpool fighting in the Golden Daggers Club fighting pen
Looks like Deadpool was already planned to be brought into the MCU as early as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings as seen in this Shang-Chi concept art shared by one of the film’s concept artists.
You can check out the Deadpool appearance from the Shang-Chi concept art after the cut!
The Shang-Chi concept art done by artist Andrew Kim shows the crowd cheering on as a fight between Deadpool and Proxima Midnight happens. Of course this ends up being replaced with Benedict Wong as Wong fighting the Abomination. The timelines also don’t match that much as Shang-Chi was set after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
In that film, Tony Stark manages to turn Thanos and his army into dust ending the battle once and for all.
Maybe Marvel had originally planned to shoot scenes with Ryan Reynolds but at the time of production, the world went into lockdown as a stop gap measure from COVID-19 which also delayed the release of the film which was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s phase 4.

Meanwhile, with the current things in the MCU, Reynolds could be getting a proper appearance in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness starring Benedict Cumberbatch. You see it appears the Fox-verse Marvel mutants are already making an appearance starting with Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier whose voice we already heard in the latest MoM trailer…
