Injustice Review

Here’s my Injustice review from Warner Bros Animation and directed by Matt Peters. The film features the voices of Gillian Jacobs, Laura Bailey, Anson Mount, Anika Noni Rose, Reid Scott, Justin Hartley, Kevin Pollak, Oliver Hudson, Fred Tatasciore, Janet Varney, Yuri Lowenthal, Derek Phillips, Edwin Hodge, Faran Tahir, Brian T. Delaney, Zach Callison, Andrew Morgado, Brandon Micheal Hall

Synopsis:

On an alternate Earth, the Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane, which causes a rampage in the hero. Superman decides to take control of Earth, Batman and his allies will have to attempt to stop him.

Animation:

The animation for this film is kind of weird. There were moments thatthe characters looked silly or way out of proportion. Like there were good moments here but most of the time the look for the characters look off. Whenever you get to see Superman, it looks awful but when you see other DC Comics heroes like Green Lantern or Wonder Woman and you get to see that they look good.

Story

If you’ve played the Injustice games from NetherRealm Studios, you’ll know pretty much how this pans out starting with The Joker using Superman to kill Lois Lane, their unborn child and the rest of Metropolis. This drives Superman to madness prompting him to murder the Joker in cold blood and escalating to taking over the world to ensure that the things he experienced will never happen to the world.

Just like the animated adaptation of Batman: Hush, they took a LOT of liberties with the story, to make it coherent and to shorten it too. I could understand that they would be

I did like the fact that they did a number of things here that fans can at least appreciate. They did that punching in the sky thing we saw in Man of Steel.

Or one of Injustice Superman’s special attacks in the fighting game.

The ending also feels meh for me. They tried to do a happy yet abrupt ending for this picture. Like they just forgot about the run time and when they got reminded that the movie is almost up, they just wrapped up everything. I have to admit that it was a neat surprise at the end but it still didn’t pack the emotional gravity to make us actually care. Wish

Also it bothered me that members of the Justice League died, some violently and in front of Superman and Wonder Woman. Like The Flash died violently and they never did mention it? Nobody mourned him? Nobody tried to look for The Flash? What kind of Justice League is this?

I read a few comments online saying that this was on the same level as Batman: Hush but I think that abomination should stay in the depths of hell. Injustice on the other hand is just disappointing.
