SH MonsterArts Godzilla vs Kong official images yield surprise spoiler

Bandai has released the official images for the SH MonsterArts Godzilla vs Kong figures as well as a neat little detail that borders on spoiler territory for the movie directed by Adam Wingard and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Rebecca Hall and Alexander Skaarsgard.

Each will be packaged individually and I’m going to assume that they will follow their color coordination as seen in the promotional material. That would mean Godzilla comes in orange hued package and Kong comes in blue. They are priced at 6600 yen each. No way they could be that cheap. AFAIK the Kong from Peter Jackson’s MonsterArts figure was priced just below P20,000 here in the Philippines. And they sold out quick.

Kong is the one I’m really interested in at the moment. Not only can he be posed upright or in bipedal form, he can also be posed on all fours like a gorilla.

And he also comes with his bad ass axe.

And take note that the figure actually reveals what the blade part of the axe is made of. Apparently its made of a dorsal fin of a creature similar to Godzilla. This could be a reference to Dagon, the other Godzilla like character that was killed in the comics and whose remains were found in the Philippines in the beginning of Gareth Edwards’ Gozilla movie back in 2014.
