Is Joe Manganiello the DCEU Deathstroke?

Just as quickly as Ben Affleck released this quick video featuring the DC Expanded Universe’s version of Deathstroke, rumors have begun swirling that actor Joe Manganiello could be playing the part.

Just a quick update, the DCEU Deathstroke first made an appearance yesterday from the social media outlets of Ben Affleck, who not only happens to be WB’s shared universe version of Batman, but also the director of the untitled Batman solo movie.

The rumor began after Manganiello’s Instagram showed him and his wife Sofia Vergara in London, which fueled the rumors because that’s the place where Zack Snyder is currently shooting his Justice League movie starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher.

What’s more is that he also followed Snyder on Instagram which is stokes the fires even more.

Nobody from the WB’s camp or Snyder or even Manganiello’s camp has confirmed or deny rumors that this is true. Our only hope at the moment lies with Batfleck who originally started this whole thing.

What we do know is that if Affleck does have Deathstroke turn up as the main villain for his Batman movie project we can expect the intensity and the action ramped up to the elevens because when these two characters meet, it always ends up with somebody getting a serious beatdown.

More importantly, the addition of Deathstroke proves how central Batman is to the DCEU. Not that we don’t know that already, the guy’s appeared in two existing movies and will appear in two more. But showing how they can branch out and give a lead-in to Suicide Squad 2 with a new badass who could potentially lead the team.
