Davao will be the setting for upcoming Gundam film Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway
Bandai and Sunrise Studios will be coming out with a new Gundam animated film called Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway which makes Filipino Gundam fans giddy with delight as it will be set in the Philippines.
The new Gundam project will be set in the Philippines, specifically in Davao where we could assume that most of the skirmishes and the Mobile Suit battles will happen.
The film is set for release in Japan starting July 23 and will be produced by Bandai and Sunrise. If you’re keen on the details, this film will be set in the Universal Century (UC); where the EFSF or Earth Federation Space Force is still locked in a war with the Republic of Zeon. To be more specific, the film will be set in UC 105.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway will be directed by Shuko Murase and will be the first in a film trilogy. These three films are sourced from the Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino’ light novel entitled “Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash” which was published from 1989 to 1990 in manga form in the Kadokawa Shonen.
