Uncanny Avengers # 6 – Deadpool & Quicksilver vs The Wrecker + Deadpool’s Secret Move
Last week’s Uncanny Avengers # 6 features great Deadpool and Quicksilver teaming up against The Wrecker who just attacked what used to be Avengers Mansion.
The issue was done by Gerry Duggan and Carlos Pacheco and I will be picking this title again after this one issue. Because, hey, Deadpool and because they Red Skull/ Sin story is starting to become very interesting.
So this issue begins with the Wrecker getting released from parole and a few hours later attacking Avengers Mansion. He beats up fake Hawkeye and we find out that the Avengers Mansion has become a theme hotel.
Two unity team members respond in the form of Quicksilver and Deadpool who brought along his Dead-Sled.
Gotta admit, I love how these two worked in this issue. There’s witty banter between the two and we also get to see what motivates Deadpool in working with the Avengers in this “new” world after Secret War.
At around this point, I totally lost my crap in the book and say “damn it, I’m picking up this title again”.
That’s right his secret move is throw money at Wrecker’s face and calls it “Moolah-Douken”. Let’s do a double take.
He fucking throws money and hires the Wrecker to work for him. To understand where Wade Wilson got the money, you have to read the current volume of Deadpool and see how he’s officially become his own brand with various different bad guys running around in a Deadpool suit.
He also charges the hotel a solid $10,000 for getting rid of the Wrecker and claiming that they shrunk him with Pym Particles and is currently in Pool’s pouch which is a big, wonderful lie.
The two also check to see Red Skull and Sin are hiding in the Avengers catacombs/ vault
with Deadpool trying to see if Quicksilver is fast enough to escape being locked in.
Had fun with this issue. Will start getting Uncanny Avengers again for the Deadpool hijinks oh and the Inhuman subplot still sucks balls.
