What Happened in Man of Steel # 5

Spoilers for Man of Steel # 5 by Brian Michael Bendis, Adam Hughes and Jason Fabok.

In this issue, we continue Superman and Ragal Zoor’s fight.

Superman carries the new villain off to the moon where he can fight him on equal footing.

Unfortunately for Superman, he again gets beaten to a bloody pulp by the baddie.

Back on Earth, Supergirl helps out with the damage from Superman’s fight when the Justice League arrives to lend a hand. Kara looks for Clark Kent and flies off to the moon.

She recovers her cousin and goes back to the Hall of Justice for medical attention.

Superman quickly recovers and talka about his encounter with the menace. While discussing, he figures out what the monster’s next move would be and quickly flies off.

Supergirl is a bit pissed that she was left behind again but Wonder Woman gives her a bit of understanding on the Man of Steel’s actions.

Superman goes suborbital and flies down to the Earth’s core, thinking he promised STAR Labs he wont do this.

Also Batman was right.

The big blue boy scout finds his new enemy in the core with what looks like a bomb.

And thus, the miniseries’ final fight has been set up with the fate of Earth hanging in the balance.

So there you go, Man of Steel # 5 in a nutshell. While there’s still the subplot of the mysterious fires around Metropolis as well as the disappearance of Lois Lane and Jonathan Kent that gets featured in the book, majority of the story looks into this fight.
