Julie’s, the country’s largest neighborhood bakeshop, celebrates its 45th year by renewing its commitment to feed Filipino families nationwide with freshly baked and affordable bread. The bakeshop welcomed the milestone year with a grand celebration in Cebu, where Julie’s also recognized the significant contribution of its suppliers, partners, and franchise owners.

In his speech, Julie’s President and CEO Joseph Gandionco asserted his continuing dedication to his mother’s values. “Without my Mama Julie, whose bold vision, steadfast determination, and boundless generosity laid the cornerstone of Julie’s, none of these would have been possible. It is her legacy that continues to guide every step we take,” he said.

Julie’s saw it fitting to celebrate the milestone in Cebu, where the bakeshop traces its roots. Founded in 1981, Julie’s began as a humble bakeshop in Wireless, Mandaue City run by its founder and matriarch, Julie Gandionco. She had envisioned having a Julie’s bakeshop in every barangay, serving fresh, hot bread baked in full view and served with an equally warm smile.
More than four decades later, her vision has almost reached fruition. With over 600 stores nationwide, Julie’s has become a household name known for its variety of products from Filipino classics like pandesal and ensaymada to sliced breads and even coffee.
Guided by Gandioco’s vision, Julie’s overcame challenges posed by calamities and a global pandemic while continuing to give back to the communities it serves. More recently, Julie’s distributed bundles of bread to over 500 families affected by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu in September 2025. The bakeshop also joined this year’s Sinulog Festival celebration with its annual feeding drive for devotees.

The country’s largest neighborhood bakeshop is gearing up for the future with its next generation of leaders and projects. Actress and brand ambassador Kim Chiu will be joining Julie’s Sama Saya event in Cebu in February to meet and greet longtime supporters of the bakeshop. Julie’s will also be launching brand new shirts in collaboration with Island Souvenirs, which will be available soon.
These are just some of the things to look forward to for Julie’s this year. Visit its website, Facebook and Instagram pages to be the first to know about Julie’s exciting promos for its 45th anniversary.
