Marvel has recently announced a new gimmick for the release of the upcoming event series Queen in Black with a special Queen in Black # 1 blind bag release hitting comic book stores soon!
The five-issue series will be written by Venom writer Al Ewing and artist Iban Coello (Fantastic Four) with a looming war between Hera and former King in Black, Knull. In the ongoing Venom series by Ewing, we find out that Hela has taken over as the god of symbiotes becoming the Queen in Black. This forces Knull to look for a new source of power to rival that of Hela’s. This war rages throughout the galaxy and goes back to Earth where the heroes stand together once more to stand with the war between Light and Dark. Readers should also expect to see tie-ins with several related titles including Spider-Man, Venom, and more!

On the farthest edges of the solar system, Knull, God of the Void, builds a brand-new army to destroy Earth… but Hela of Asgard might have gotten there first – as she makes planetfall with a legion of the galaxy’s deadliest symbiotes! There can only be one winner – but whoever wins, it’s the worst news possible for our heroes.”
To celebrate the launch of the summer’s biggest event, QUEEN IN BLACK #1 will be available in Marvel’s new True Believers Blind Bags. Following the massive success of Ultimate Endgame #1 and Daredevil #1, True Believers Blind Bags give fans a chance to purchase the issue in special sealed bags, but unlike previous True Believers Blind Bags, QUEEN IN BLACK #1 True Believers Blind Bags will only contain exclusive variant covers not available otherwise.
