Age of Revelation Ending – Spoilers
Some big spoilers for X-Men Age of Revelation Finale which brings this crossover event to a halt and sets up some future story beats for the X-Men books as well as bring the story back to the present with Cyclops and his ongoing beef with Revelation aka former New Mutants member Cypher – Doug Ramsey.

So in this issue, Cyclops and his X-Men bring the fight to Doug Ramsey aka Revelation and his so called Age of Revelation. There’s also the return of Charles Xavier and Apocalypse from Arakko coming from the exiled reality it hid in years ago. During the first moments of the clash with Revelation, Wolverine performs a “Fastball Special” with Apocalypse throwing him.

Even in defeat, Revelation reveals that he was just biding his time and waiting for more mutants that he can use to create biomass for his final plan. With enough mutants on Earth, he triggers his biomass attack and everything pretty much ends for this reality. Cyclops and the X-Men try to go out in a blaze of glory jumping into the core of this biomass.

But there’s a side detail here, the Cyclops who made a final stand is the actual Cyclops from this reality. Meanwhile, the Cyclops who was taking the controls from the start of the story was actually the consciousness of the Cyclops from the Jed McKay X-Men book. Another time displaced X-Man working in the Age of Revelation was Beast but there’s a big twist.

You see we were originally led to believe that this was the Beast that’s working with the X-Men, the good guy beast who was cloned from McCoy’s 80’s / early 90s/ Avengers version. It wasn’t supposed to be the modern Hank McCoy who had already become a villain, embraced back during the Krakoa era as a member of X-Force before ultimately becoming a villain again by the time Krakoa fell. He was the war criminal Beast who even cloned Wolverine and used those clones as personal soldiers AND as assassins or enforcers.

And he hijacked this time-travel with data he can use in the present with his new superteam he calls 3K. It’s also revealed that in the present aka Year Zero AOR, that he has a new cyborg body.

Meanwhile Cyclops returned to the present just minutes after he tried to kill Cypher aka Revelation as they met up with them in their base; along with Warlock and Doug’s wife Bei the Blood Moon.

As for the fate of Age of Revelation’s Earth after the “defeat” of Revelation? The biomass he setup was actually used to create a new version of Ego the Living Planet. In this reality, Doug has become Revelation the Living Planet.

I have a feeling this won’t be the end of seeing Revelation’s new form. He could pop up in future stories written by series writer Jed McKay or anybody from the current X-books.
