Diablo 4 or Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is the second major expansion for the Diablo IV RPG game from Blizzard Entertainment slated for release April 28, 2026. This will be the end of the “Age of Hatred” story that has been running in the game since its release and will focus on the fight against Mephisto, the Prime Evil of Hatred in a new land called Skovos.
For lore gamers who wish to continue the story, this will be the game to pick up next as it will continue the narrative laid out by the first game as well as the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, with players trailing behind Mephisto who has controlled the body of the prophet Akarat. The new mission will take players to a new locale called Skovos Isles which also happens to be the the birthplace of the firstborn civilization. So expect to see diverse environments like sunken shores and volcanic terrain.
According to Blizzard there will be two new classes available for “Lord of Hatred” with the first one revealed to be the Paladin class who follows the mechanic of using sword and shield and focused more on holy light magic, strength and divine justice.
