Marvel Legends Iron Man Extremis and Mandarin 2-Pack

Hasbro has unveiled a new Marvel Legends Iron Man Extremis 2-pack coming in the next few weeks featuring Iron Man/ Tony Stark and a new Mandarin figure!

IIRC, this was based off the Matt Fraction run of Iron Man when he had to go toe-to-toe with The Mandarin and was also around the same time he was flying around with the Extremis.

So let’s take a look at the figures in this 2-pack. First we have the Tony Stark figure…

We’re not really getting anything much on this release other than an alternate set of hands, two blast effects and an alternate head featuring Tony Stark’s face. I am looking at the face quality though and my god, that looks pretty good. But it could still be a prototype and the end product might be as far as that one image.

I’m not sure about the last released Extremis Iron Man figure but this one looks like its got pinless joints AND its got better articulation. He can even recreate that classic “Superhero Landing” pose that was all the rage back in the early 2000s.

But the 2-pack definitely packs a punch with the Mandarin figure.

The Marvel Legends Mandarin figure comes with two sets of alternate hands one open palm and the other casting magic. You’ll also get the crimson magic effect that you can wrap around the hands just like what we got in the past Iron Man and even Thor figures from Hasbro, And we also get the “final form” headsculpt featuring Mandarin’s face twisted in anger with flowing grey hair that also includes his facial hair.

I might get this too because of the possibilities of swapping the head with other figures that could make for some interesting photos and situations while playing and posing. I’m already think of swapping this with a Matt Murdock figure to have him more of this disheveled attorney or even a Punisher figure to make him look like he’s undercover.
