·       Milestone launch integrating Maya’s most comprehensive consumer and enterprise ecosystems

·       Over 40,000 Maya Black Credit Cards issued since soft launch in May 2025

·       Up to 10x Maya Miles from over 600 Maya Black Preferred merchant doors nationwide

Manila, Philippines – August 6, 2025 — Maya, the Philippines’ #1 digital bank and fintech ecosystem, today unveiled the Maya Black Credit Card and Maya Black Preferred, marking a bold step forward in its strategy to unify consumer and enterprise experiences through one integrated platform.

This launch brings together the full breadth of Maya’s digital infrastructure—from banking and payments to lending and rewards—delivering a seamless, data-driven credit experience for customers while creating shared value for merchants.

“We’re not just launching a credit card—we’re activating the full power of Maya’s ecosystem,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder. “With innovations like the Maya Black Preferred partner program, we will not only expand access to credit but also create even greater value for consumers and businesses alike.”

Maya Black Credit Card: Premium Access, Made Digital

The Maya Black Credit Card is Maya’s latest innovation in democratizing access to premium financial tools. Since its pilot rollout in May 2025, the product has already reached over 40,000 cardholders, indicating strong demand ahead of its full nationwide launch. Maya Black offers secured and unsecured credit lines, fast digital approval, instant virtual issuance, and full in-app control.

Customers earn Maya Miles with every transaction, tracked in real time, and can soon use them to pay directly at select Maya Black Preferred merchants or convert them into travel rewards such as Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Miles. These features will be rolled out in the coming months.

Other card features include:

·       3,000 bonus miles upon physical card activation and ₱5,000 spend within 60 days;

·       Access to global airport lounges via DragonPass, including PAGSS and Marhaba lounges at NAIA;

·       Global acceptance at over 130 million merchants via Visa;

·       Advanced security, with numberless design, in-app controls and freeze/replace features.

To further drive cultural relevance and responsible credit use, Maya has tapped Julia Barretto, Maris Racal and Jericho Rosales as ambassadors of the Maya Black lifestyle—representing a generation that charts its own path and lives boldly.

Maya is the first and only digital bank in the Philippines to offer credit cards. Maya Black builds on the strong momentum of its earlier co-branded credit card program with both offerings collectively issuing over 230,000 cards since August 2024, many of them to first-time cardholders.

Maya Black Preferred: Merchant-Linked Rewards and Ecosystem Synergy

Complementing the card is Maya Black Preferred, a new rewards program that connects Maya’s credit platform to its acquiring network—the country’s largest payments processor. With over 600 Maya Black Preferred merchant doors nationwide, the program allows Maya Black cardholders to earn up to 10x Maya Miles when they shop with participating businesses.

For merchants, it creates a direct stake in the credit experience—helping drive customer loyalty, boost spending and deepen engagement. Maya plans to further expand this synergy by using behavioral insights from its acquiring tools—Maya Checkout, Maya POS and Maya Business Manager—to eventually extend tailored credit solutions to MSMEs.

Today, Maya is the Philippines’ largest payment processor, handling over half of all card transactions nationwide via Maya Business.

Bridging Gaps in a Credit-Starved Market

Maya’s data-driven platform connects its banking and payments businesses in real time, enabling faster credit approvals, more accurate risk assessments and hyper-personalized offers.

The approach is especially relevant in a market where the credit challenge remains real. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) data from 2021 shows that 56% of adults found it difficult to obtain a credit card. Additionally, as of 2023, TransUnion reported that only 15% of Filipino adults had one. Maya’s goal is to change this, not just by issuing credit, but by rethinking how it is earned, approved and rewarded.
