Castlevania Animated Series Coming Late 2017 on Netflix with Warren Ellis onboard
Warren Ellis and Castlevania are two terms that may have the same wavelength but was highly improbable to collaborate and yet here we are today posting the news about a new Castlevania TV series which will be released on Netflix late 2017.
The official description reads:
Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself
Also onboard for the project is Adi Shankar, the same guy who did that awesome Power Rangers fan film last year. He and Ellis will be running the show with executive producers Kevin Kolde and Fred Seibert.
We know that the series will have ultra-violence in it because what Castlevania material doesn’t? Shankar did already confirm that much on Facebook too.
Meanwhile the last Castlevania game that hit the market was three years ago, and that was Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 and it had generated an OK sales in the market. Nothing new for the property though which is sad because Konami should be churning new stuff after losing Hideo Kojima and generally negative buzz over Metal Gear Survive.
Meanwhile Castlevania: Symphony of the Night creator/director/ boss Koji Igarashi was here in the Philippines last year during ESGS 2016 and the legend was promoting his new game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The game, according to him, is a ‘spiritual successor’ to SotN.
