CM Punk returns to WWE at Survivor Series War Games 2023
The worst kept rumor is official – CM Punk returns to the WWE at the ending of Survivor Series War Games 2023.
After the 5v5 Men’s Survivor series match ended and the victors have been announced, the graphics for CM Punk (real name Phil Brooks) popped out and the former WWE champion came out much to the Chicago crowd.
Punk then did his usual stuff from kneeling and then doing his iconic “It’s Clobbering Time” shout to hype up the crowd.
He didn’t go into a match though, just pretty much made an appearance and stating his return to the company he left in the early 2010s.
Punk was released by Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling or AEW due to some trouble backstage which was truly horrendous stuff for the wrestling promoter.
Weeks before War Games though, it was already heavily rumored that Punk would make an appearance with some small details being noticed by fans including the 2023 release of a remastered version of “Cult of Personality” by Living Colour which was Punk’s trademark ring entrance music.
I guess WWE did a good job of making fans want to tune in to Raw to see the aftermath of this match.
