The gun looks ridiculous and its not an accurate depiction of what Bucky was brandishing around the Marvel Universe around the time that Steve Rogers was still dead.
The headsculpt also kinda needs improvement but I guess that’s a little too late considering that the product is now on pre-order on the Hasbro Pulse website.
Let me get you up to speed with the cliffnotes version of why Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier was Captain America.
Bucky as Captain America?
So yeah, Bucky took over the role of Captain America after the events of Civil War and the Death of Captain America. He got a letter from Steve asking him to take over the role and was given the shield and a new costume by then SHIELD director Tony Stark.
Barnes as Captain America joined Steve’s New Avengers team and acted as a field leader going through a number of story arcs and enemies. He “relinquished” the title back to Steve Rogers during the events of “Fear Itself” where he was seemingly killed by Sin during a one-on-one fight with the Red Skull’s daughter.
Since then Bucky has returned to being the Winter Soldier and has appeared in Rogers’ ongoing book Captain America and have gone through a number of status changes since then.
